Wireless Transmission Media | Unguided Media | Satellite | Bluetooth | WiFi

This is a Secondary part of wireless Transmission media. In the first part, we have learned about how data travels without wire using different types of waves, like Radio waves, Microwave, and Infrared.
Actually, all type of wireless communication is done only on waves. so Satellite, Bluetooth, and WiFi are applications of waves. but we will learn them as a types of wireless Transmission media.

Types of Wireless Transmission Media.

1. Satellite

Here Satellite is an artificial Satellite that relays Radio waves Signals via Transponder.
A Transponder is a device that receives the signal transmitted from the Earth station, amplifies that signal, and then re-transmit another Earth station.
It covers a very large area. It is cheaper than Wired Media because lying and maintenance are difficult and expensive.

2. Bluetooth

Bluetooth was developed by Ericsson in 1994. It is used for short-range data communication. It uses Radiofrequency from 2.402 GHz to 2.480 GHz.
Bluetooth divides data into small packets and then transmits it.
It requires a low-cost trans-receiver chip.
It is free and easy to use if a device has Bluetooth Chip.

3. WiFi

WiFi is an abbreviation of Wireless Fidelity.WiFi uses Radiofrequency 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
These Radio waves are subdivided into channels and each channel can be shared between networks, but only one channel at a time.
WiFi can be used for Internet access at “Hotspot” such as Railway Station, Shopping Malls, Airports, Hotels, and our offices, etc.
Any device can connect with Network easily.
It provides Mobility.
It is convenient to add a new device with Network with no Hardware change.
